It's soft, but quite a bit of cracking in the leather, so not sure how durable it will be for necklaces. The only reason that I've given 4 stars is that two of them had poorer finish to the hole chipped which didn't actually matter in the piece I was making as the crystal butted right up to it and the tension was tight enough not to show
But I was slightly disappointed as all of the other beads purchased were perfect
I would definitely order all of the beads from my order again
