Report confirms Consumer Prefer Handmade –

A recent study from coffee outlet, Costa Coffee, has revealed that just ten percent of people prefer machine made items over those that have been handmade, with 46% citing their unique and personal credentials as their greatest attraction.  The Study also reveals that quarter of the public are willing to pay up to 20% more for products that have been made by hand, something that has been reflected in the craft market over the past year.

Sunday – Christmas Special

13th December 2009

Dress up for the festival season

The Compitition

It’s nearly Christmas, and we all busy doing Christmas shopping, writing Christmas cards, making jewellery for friends and loved ones or planning the Christmas feast for the family.  It’s the festival season, and you can smell the atmosphere in the air.

To celebrate Christmas, we are running a competition, asking all the craft enthusiasts to bring in a hand-made project to the Club on Sunday 13th December.  I think you might bring in a beaded Christmas bauble, because it’s so easy to make and attractive.  You might bring in a pair of snow man earrings, little angels, snowflakes, candles, well decorated Christmas card or something big......  What colour scheme are you going to use? The traditional red, green, gold or other colours like white, silver...  Come on, surprise us, and let’s have that Wow!

The project will be voted by everyone on the day, and the winner will win our gift voucher worth £30.  Good luck, everyone!

Like the last couple of years, we are doing a secret Santa.  Could you please wrap a little gift – worth £2, and we’ll find out what surprise you’ll give us all.

To help everyone enjoy the day, please bring some food with you and we’ll share them.

Up for a challenge?  We’ve got a quiz on the day.
